our yoga teachers

  • Hello! My name is Peggy Thompson and I have been a resident of the Columbia River Gorge for the past 35 years. I co-founded a business and then retired from this rewarding experience in the world of specialty coffee after 25 year. A new found passion through teaching yoga showed itself to me shortly after retirement. With perfect timing as Covid arrived and touched our lives in unexpected ways, the yoga training did the same for me during this same trying moment in time. Never intending to teach after I completed the 200 hour yoga teacher training, I was offered a teaching position a couple of years later in August of 2022. I accepted this joyful and amazing challenge at Skamania Yoga Studio and I am truly content that I did. My passion has grown daily as I continue to practice at the studio with my students, as well as practice and learn on my own.

My class structure maintains an intentional heartfelt approach throughout while generally focusing on Hatha Yoga movement. I owe much to my YTT instructor Crystal Borup. More recently I have had the honor to study and receive certification with Judith Hansen Lasater for a seminar on Non-Violent Communication.

She infuses her practice with a blend of mindfulness and versatility. She is constantly expanding her skill set, and has delved into sound healing and Reiki to further her abilities, driven by a profound desire to explore diverse healing modalities. Through her journey, she aims to offer a unique and holistic approach to wellness, bringing a special touch to the journey of healing for all those she guides on the mat.
